Vegan memes and graphics

Vegan memes and graphics are such a cool way to get the message out. Vegans have (mostly) kept their mouths shut, sensing that they have an uphill battle – but the tide is turning – everything is pointing the way to veganism – we just need to convince people to give up their habits and see that from whatever perspective you look at meat and dairy it is horrendous. The only justification is that you like the taste and you’ve always done it.

Negatives of meat and dairy:-

1. it is incredibly wasteful of food – we feed 69 billion animals (the actual number may be higher. We turn that into food for 7 billion – due to the losses in producing factory farmed animals.
2. The water use is massively more than for growing crops – by a factor of 10 for beef versus soya.
3. Massive deforestation is caused by clearing land for grazing and for growing crops to feed to animals
4. Human health is massively negatively affected by eating meat & dairy – meat is listed as a probably carcinogen – we have an epidemic of obesity and ill health in western countries.
5. Potent global warming gasses are created both by the methane gasses from animal poo and belching, but also the vast amount of extra transport required for the extra food stuffs for the animals and to transport the live animals and carcasses.
6. The soils are being impoverished by overuse of fertilizers due to the unnecessary overproduction of animal feed stuffs to feed the 69 billion land animals that are killed every year.
7. The seas around our coasts are suffering massive eutrification due to fertilizer and animal manure run-off – dead zones are everywhere – see this map.
8. The sea is being massively over fished – both for the gathering of fish for animal feed, and the direct consumption by humans. The entire marine ecosystem is under threat from fishing activities of humans. The oceans provide 70% of the earth’s oxygen – if they die, we do too.
